Description of Practice

Ms. Artal is available to conduct virtual mediations and arbitration hearings remotely. Ms. Artal has extensive experience resolving complex commercial disputes as a mediator and arbitrator. She is also a trained family law mediator. She has lengthy experience dealing with some of the most skilled and aggressive attorneys, placing her in a skill category usually reserved for attorneys twice her age.

Ms. Artal is a prolific author and has contributed to many legal publications. She serves as the editor for the NYLitigator, the publication of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Professional Background

Prior to co-founding her own ADR firm, Ms. Artal served as principal law clerk to the Senior Justice of the Commercial Division of New York State’s Supreme Court. In that role, she managed a heavy docket of complex commercial cases, drafted decisions on substantive dispositive motions, decided virtually all discovery disputes and determined the methodology for e-Discovery protocols.

Her practice areas include commercial contracts, real estate transactions, insurance and reinsurance coverage, business torts and fraud, domestic and international arbitration, art law, securities fraud, corporate governance, finance, banking, secured transactions, UCC, Martin Act claims, foreign law, statutory interpretation, Article 78 petitions, residential mortgage-backed securities, provisional and post-judgment remedies, professional malpractice, shareholder derivative and class action litigation.
